November Bloody Mary Competition The team from The New Inn took part in the much awaited Bloody Mary Competition at The WheatSheaf in Northleach earlier this month. Unfortunately we didn't win with our secret ingredient, but Mr Dom Joly was quoted as saying "The New Inn was his favourite local."
October Garden SOS We have been busy this winter improving the outside areas ready for next summer - our sun terrace has got a new fence, the children's play area is now enclosed, and a new railing has gone up on the roof by one of our rooms so that guests can take in the countryside view in safety.
July New Head Chef We are delighted to announce that Darren Bartlett, has now taken over as the head chef of The New Inn. Darren started his kitchen experience at the Fosse Manor in Stow on the Wold, before moving on to the Kings Arms in Stow as sous chef learning from the award winning chef Tomas Creek. For the past 18 months Darren has been our sous chef under Oliver Addis (who he had worked with previously at the Fosse) setting up a new team here at The New Inn. We had no hesitation in promoting him to take over the kitchen on Oliver's departure to a new career choice. Darren is very excited about bringing new ideas to the team, and to the plates! His mantra is that each dish must be well presented but also be full of flavour. In doing this he always make sure that he uses as much local produce as possible.
Employee of the Month Congratulations go to Eliza this month for being awarded Employee of the Month. Eliza constantly goes that little step further with a smile on her face to ensure our guests are always happy and we are so pleased to have her on board.
June Welcome Baby Louie We are very excited to announce the arrival of Louie Allan Hodges. The new addition to Stuart's family (our GM) was born at 10.30pm on the 10th of June, and weighed in at 8.6 We are very pleased to say that mum and baby are doing well, and send huge congratulations to all the Hodges family!
